Joining Starwin as makers and creators in July 2020, we asked Wendy McWilliam & Justine Daï to share their story for creating change with us. All products are designed and made in Port Douglas, tropical North Queensland.
How would you describe ways that you give back / pay it forward in our community?
We are both great advocates of 'sharing the love' & strive in every thing we do to do it well, with a smile on our faces & to always be respectful & kind. Even if we deal with a difficult situation or individual, we see this as an opportunity to pass on our positive vibe.
What is your one-of-a-kindness story?
We do this daily! We smile, we help family, friends as well as strangers when ever we can. This is what we do!
Can you share with us a story of how you care for country?
Firstly we believe that caring for country starts with caring for each & every one of us, as individuals & as part of the human race. We are one! Individually we both strive in every thing we do, to do it with kindness, consideration & respect for all others as well as for our environment. We are mindful of our responsibility as humans to be open minded & inclusive towards all others. We take this seriously.
We appreciate that we are all different & find this exciting. We are forever looking to expand our knowledge particularly in respect to our original caretakers of our home land here in Australia, so as to better understand therefore appreciating our past. We feel blessed to live here in Port Douglas Australia & even in small ways we are great believers that to have an appreciation of family, friends, our very special local community as well as the greater world, no act of kindness, tolerance & respect is too small.
